| 1.
Membership of the KUO is opened to citizens of all towns
under Ashanti traditional area who subscribe to the purposes
and objectives of the KUO as described under article II
of our constitution.
2.
Anyone who has affiliation with Ashanti, resulting from
birth may become a member and will be accorded all rights
and privileges as long as he/she fulfills his/her responsibilities
and obligations to the KUO.
3.
Spouses (Non-Ashantis) of members as described under section
1 of this article who are interested in becoming members
of the KUO shall apply to become members. They will be required
to complete application forms and pay the applicable registration
fee of $85.00*** (subject to change by general vote only)
as well as pay their monthly dues of $15.00 as established
under article VII of our constitution. They shall be accorded
all rights and privileges as long as they fulfill their
responsibilities and obligations to the KUO.
4.
Any citizens of Ashanti as described under sections 1, 2
and 3 of article IV desiring for membership will fill a
form prescribed by the KUO, together with payment of registration
fee of $85.00. Accepted new members shall be introduced
to the general membership at the next meeting of the KUO.
5.
Any member who moves out of metro Columbus and would like
to retain his/her membership would be required to officially
inform the KUO of his/her desire to continue to be a member
of the KUO. However, such a member shall be required to
fulfill his/her financial obligations to the KUO. Failure
to do so would lead to revocation of his/her membership.
6.
No Ashanti shall be denied membership on the basis of sex,
religion, clan or hometown. Parental status or position
within Ashanti Traditional Area shall have no bearing on
this association. Therefore, all members have equal status
in the KUO.
